Learning Language Arts Through Literature: Learning Language Arts Through Literature is a complete language arts program for first grade through high school. Using an integrated approach to learning, students learn the skills appropriate for each grade level in the context of real literature. This approach creates a deeper understanding and generates a greater interest in language arts. The integrated language approach has the benefits of all teaching methods. By working with pieces of real literature, students get more engaged and are able to focus more on English grammar, reading, vocabulary, spelling, writing mechanics, thinking skills, and penmanship. Being more engaged in the topic causes them to learn more and retain their knowledge longer.
Learning Language Arts Through Literature uses a creative approach to teaching English grammar. This popular homeschool curriculum brings kids into the lessons by assigning them popular fiction literature novels to read, which they can find at their local library or purchase separately. The text from the literature becomes the focus for applying the rules of language arts, including grammar and writing. After reading the literature, kids are on board and more eager to participate than they would be with other grammar curriculums. The curriculum includes all teacher and student activity books. Review and assessment are included with each grade level. We offer the complete line of Learning Language Arts Through Literature. We also carry most of the assigned fiction literature books. Available for grades 1-12. Published by Common Sense Press.
