The unique approach of these kindergarten homeschool activity lessons and teacher books has helped make Saxon Phonics a best seller.
The Saxon Phonics K Home Study Kit has been carefully planned and packaged. All you need to teach the program effectively is included in the Home Study Kit. Each kit comes with a Teacher's Manual, Teaching Tools, and Student Materials. Each of these components can be purchased separately.
Saxon Phonics is also available for 1st Grade and 2nd Grade.
Saxon Phonics K begins by working with auditory discrimination skills to see if the children are aware of the different sounds of the English language and are ready to learn to read. When they are ready, the teacher begins by teaching the name, sound, and written form of each letter. In order to provide plenty of time for practice, one week is devoted to each letter. When a new letter is taught, students review all previously taught letters, as they do every day, to make sure they have enough exposure to master each letter. After learning three letters, the children begin to blend letters to create words and unblend words to spell. Children are never asked to read or write with sounds they have not been taught. © 1996 (140 lessons).
