I Can Do All Things 1st Edition provides excellent Christian teaching resources for classroom and homeschool. A comprehensive beginners art course for students between the ages of 6-10. However, if you have a student who is older than 10 but is still basically a beginner when it comes to art, than we recommend that you start here. Sections covered in this text are: Beginning Drawing, How to use Colored Pencils, Blending with Watercolor Markers & Beginning Painting. The text also includes a new section on art appreciation, a glossary, and examinations.

Over 200 pages with 180 daily lessons plus 38 8½" x 11" Paint & Marker Cards. Text and 1 set of paint & marker cards come shrink wrapped together.

Families with multiple children may copy lessons to help with the costs of providing an art course at home, however, we do recommend you purchase extra sets of the paint cards for each additional child as they can be difficult to copy due to the thickness of the cards.

  • TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Art is a learned discipline. Our purpose at How Great Thou ART is to teach students the fundamentals of art by building upon the fundamentals, "line upon line, precept upon precept." We believe the most important quality in learning is having a good attitude; students need to believe that they can learn to draw, paint, letter and so forth. Art is not for just some , or those we call "talented." God has given all of us, to one degree or another, abilities in art that should be nurtured.

The lessons in our text have been created to be both enjoyable and educational, challenging the students while preserving their sense of joy. Our curriculum is teacher friendly; it is easy to understand and do. Each lesson contains specific learning objectives, teaching many of the fundamentals of drawing and color theory.

We foresee a revival in the arts, starting with our children, glorifying God through their talents; a revival to reclaim the arts through integrity and to, once again, touch the heart of mankind. Discipline, effort, goals and a program that emphasizes the fundamentals are the ingredients needed to prepare the next generation for the exciting times ahead. Remember, it is most important to have a good attitude; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13) May God bless the work of your hands and make all your plans succeed.

    ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Barry Stebbing has been an artist his entire life. He attended Maryland Institute of Art as a painting major, and received his degree in art education from Salisbury University. Graduate studies were done in Cortona, Italy with the University of Georgia, along with studying portrait painting in Montreal. Barry spent many years teaching art in the public school system, along with teaching adult education and painting workshops. In 1990-1991, Barry and his wife set out across the back roads of America where he completed a series of oil paintings, three in each state, of some of this country's most splendid scenery. It was during this time that Barry began to realize God's purpose for his talents, and after much conviction from the Holy Spirit, he surrendered those talents to be used for God's Glory instead of his own. It was just a short while later that the first book on drawing was written and that was the beginning of How Great Thou Art Publications. Since that first book was published, 10 more curriculums have been written combining journaling, drawing, & painting along with art appreciation. Barry & his wife Saundra have also been conducting 3-day art classes across the U.S. and Canada for the last 5 years and expect that they have taught more than 25,000 students the joy of art!

    CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS
"I want to encourage you by saying that my children are really enjoying your art programs! They ASK for it. We have a joint class three time a week. The ages I have are 15, 12, 10, 8 and 7. It is amazing to see them produce nice art pieces. I believe your program is the most logical and sequential one - one the kids want to do - with great results! My 5 year old started to show an interest so I am going to order the age appropriate book for him. It is so exciting to see these budding young artists under my roof! Keep up the great work and know that you are doing a good thing!"
    Robin Hancock
    Monroe, N.C.

"As an art teacher in public education for the last 10 years, I'm often skeptical of pre-packaged art curriculums. But Barry Stebbings curriculum is different, primarily because it fills a void in many homeschooling families who need clear yet meaningful direction in the area of art education."
    Peter Mahan
    Art Teacher
    Oswego, N.Y

. "Having worked in the public and private schools for many years and now homeschooling, this curriculum is a blessing to find! What a joy to find an art curriculum that does not take hours of preparation."
    Rebecca Roffo
    Freehold, N.Y.

"Barry's philosophy in teaching art is through learning the disciplines: teaching students to draw from life and learning the fundamentals. I believe this is an honest way to teach art and the only way to springboard students into the visual arts. It is affirming to see his "back to the fundamentals" approach."
    Sally Wade
    Tyler, TX (artist & teacher)

"Barry's style is excellent for working with children with learning difficulties. He is very clear in his instructions, structured, good at getting across exactly what he wants, step by step, concise, and sure of his materials."
    Nancy Persuad
    Bartlesville, OK

"God bless you and your gift! I have 3 children who absolutely love you books. Thank you for allowing them to be creative."
    Pat Mach
    Parker, CO

"We love your books. Especially that God's word is included every day!"
    Dale Watne
    Denver, CO

"The children really enjoy using this art program and I find it to be very compatible with private lessons or used alone."
    Jane Deland
    Colorado Springs, CO

"For a very well rounded education, with a Christian perspective, you don't want to miss these books! It is also fun for mom and dad to get a book and work right along with the children. We know adults who do this and have gained quite a lot of instruction while having an enjoyable time!"
    Karen Shertz
    Metamora, IL

"We were looking for an easy to use and easy to follow program for drawing. My children love your curriculum and are becoming great artists!"
    Grace Di Pasquale
    Hawthorne, CA
