ADVENTURE GUIDE BOOK
476 Pages. The core of Power-Glide's robust and award winning language course. Divided into sections, it includes an integrated Academic Guide, learning objectives, lesson plans, cultural info, self-tests, test keys, written exercises, and is linked to the audio CDs, so finding your way through it is as easy as pushing play and following along.
You can't start your adventure without the Spanish Adventure Guide! Your children will listen to the Audio CD's while doing the activities in the Adventure Guide. We highly recommend that each child have their own book because there are activities in the book that require the student to write. If you have more than one student, you will need to order additional copies.
Students complete their lesson exercises in the consumable Student Workbook. Students complete all the activity lessons sequentially, while following along with the audio CD's. The book contains a course overview, extensive daily lesson plans, written tests, answer keys, and more.
4 AUDIO CD’s
Audio activities from the course are conveniently organized and separated by track on the CDs. Our audio CD's have native Spanish speakers from different geographical regions so the students are able to hear different pitches and tones that they would hear in real world settings. If you prefer to use audio cassette tapes rather than audio CD's, that is no problem. All orders are shipped with audio CD's but you will find instructions in the box on how you can exchange the CD's for audio cassettes for free.

Designed to supplement the course, the CD ROM lets students choose their own adventure story. The student is the main character, La Mosca. They will be traveling to different countries, finding themselves in different settings, such as restaurants, airports, and hotels. This gives the student the opportunity to hear the Spanish being spoken in different situations and settings. The CD Rom also has a Spanish/English dictionary, cultural information, and dozens of additional exercises and activities.

What kind of Spanish is taught in the course?
There is no universal "standard" form of Spanish. Educated citizens of Madrid may not speak like educated Spanish speakers in Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, or any other Spanish speaking country in the world. But they learn to understand Spanish speakers whose accent or dialect is quite different from their own, just like someone from the U.S. learns to understand people who speak with a British accent.
The Spanish you will hear on the cassettes is not limited to just one voice or region. Hearing the variety of Spanish accents on the tape, you will not only find "your own voice"-your own preferred accent-but you will accustom your ear to hearing and understanding Spanish as it is spoken in its many forms. You will be learning International Spanish.
