WYOMING HOMESCHOOL LAW
Compulsory
School Age: 7 - 16 (by September 15)
Wyoming
state law offers one legal homeschooling option,
which is to establish and operate a homeschool. Parents wishing to
educate their children at home must submit to the local school board
each year a curriculum that demonstrates "a basic academic educational
program" will be provided. A "'basic academic educational program'
is one that provides a sequentially progressive curriculum of
fundamental instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, civics,
history, literature and science." Wyoming statutes are unclear
regarding required attendance for homeschool students; public and
private schools are required to attend 175 days of instruction.
There are no regulations requiring parent/teacher qualifications,
recordkeeping, or testing for this option.
