ILLINOIS HOMESCHOOL LAW
Compulsory
School Age: 7 - 17
Illinois
state law offers one legal homeschooling option. Parents who
wish to homeschool may operate a homeschool as a private school.
The state's attendance policy specifies 176 days per year, but this is
not a legal requirement for children in private school or homeschool.
Required subjects include language arts, biological and physical
sciences, math, social studies, fine arts, and physical development.
There are no requirements regarding parent/teacher qualifications,
school board notifications, reports or records, or testing for this option.
