School Age: 6 - 18
Texas
state law offers one legal homeschooling option, which is to establish
and operate a homeschool as a private school. Homeschool programs
must be operated "in a bona fide manner" and must have a curriculum of
written materials and/or other appropriate learning materials which
focus on reading, spelling, grammar, math, and good citizenship.
There are no requirements for attendance, teacher qualifications, school
board notification, recordkeeping, or testing.
