NEVADA HOMESCHOOL LAW
Compulsory
School Age: 7 - 18
Nevada
state law offers one legal homeschooling option, which is to establish
and operate a homeschool. In order to legally homeschool in the
state of Nevada, parents are required to file a notice of intent with
the local school superintendent. The notice needs only to be filed
once, but must include the name, age, and gender of the child; the name
and address of the parent; a signed statement by the child's
parent/guardian asserting legal custodial rights and educational
responsibility for the child; and an educational plan. Subjects
required to be taught include English, math, science, and social
studies. There are no requirements regarding attendance,
parent/teacher qualifications, recordkeeping or reporting, or testing.
