DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA HOMESCHOOL LAW
Compulsory
School Age: 5 - 18 (by December 31)
District of
Columbia statutes offer one legal homeschooling option, which is the use
of private instructors; they may not an affiliate of an educational
institution. No notice is required unless the child withdraws from the public school.
The child must attend instruction during the same period that
public schools are in session. A daily record of attendance must
be kept by each private instructor. There are no requirements
regarding subjects to be taught, teacher qualifications, or testing.
