The Studying God’s Word series by Christian Liberty Press is one I have used for the past seven years. It is one of the Bible curriculum out there that I know I can trust to remain true to what the Bible teaches in it’s entirety. Christian Liberty Press has been around for a while and has stood the test of time. I have used their books with confidence for all three of my homeschooled children. I have to say that Book B is one of the most memorable ones in this series.
Strengths: I can not say enough about this particular book! I absolutely love it! It is easy to follow and packed with loads of valuable life changing information for your child to learn from. Each lesson begins with learning and memorizing the main idea in each Bible study lesson. These consist of important Biblical facts that set the foundation for Christian beliefs and set the stage for the rest of the lesson. It can all be built upon in the years to follow. It also is written in a way to involve and engage your child each step of the way. Each first grade Bible lesson is outlined in a manner that is understandable and easy to follow. There are many activities in each lesson to keep your first grader interested in the lessons and each drives home the main Bible point of that lesson. In the end they will know the who, why, what, when and how of Jesus. I would call this book Jesus 101. My children loved this book and loved using it.
Weaknesses: There was really nothing to complain about here. I actually think this is the best written book in this series. One that I would loved to have seen others modeled after.
Recommendations: I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone who has a first grader! You will not be disappointed. It is easy to teach and follow. Make sure that you read through the entire lesson so that you can see it come to life for yourself and in turn make the pages come to life for your student.
