Apologia Exploring Creation with Zoology 1 Review

After homeschooling for twelve years, I was tired of teaching the same old science classes and switched to Apologia.  I chose to start out with Exploring Creation with Zoology 3: Land Animals of the Sixth Day since my daughter had already done studies on some of the animals covered in Apologia’s Zoology 1 and 2 books.  Exploring Creation with Zoology 3 ended up being the best science class I have ever taught.  My daughter and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to go back and do Apologia Exploring Creation with Zoology 1: Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day.

Strengths:
Did you know that the Arctic Tern flies more that 20,000 miles every year as it migrates from the … Read the rest of this post…

Apologia Exploring Creation with Zoology 3 Review

After teaching the same old science lessons for twelve years, I was looking for something new.  My daughter and I were both bored with curricula that taught the same areas of science each year, only expanding upon what was taught the previous year.  In my search, I came across Apologia Zoology.  We had already done several lessons on birds and fish, so I skipped Zoology 1 and 2 and decided to try Apologia Science Exploring Creation with Zoology 3: Land Animals of the Sixth Day.  It was the best decision I’ve ever made when it comes to science.

Strengths:
Fun!  I finally found a science class that was fun.  My daughter and I both absolutely loved doing Exploring Creation with … Read the rest of this post…

Review for Apologia Zoology 1 Homeschool Curriculum

Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day, just like the other elementary books from Apologia science, is everything required in an elementary science curriculum, ideal for Christian schools and homeschool families. My family homeschools in the classical method, using a very Charlotte Mason approach in the early years, so with notebook and narration assignments built in, it’s perfectly designed for our needs. The children just love Jeannie Fulbright’s writing (the sixth grade student simply devoured all of her books and now considers himself quite the scientific expert).

Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day science curriculum uses the immersion approach to science, which suits me and my family very well. It’s a very natural way to learn, and the kids come … Read the rest of this post…
