BACK ORDER POLICIES |

The policies on this page
explain how we handle your order if one or more items on
your order are either back ordered (usually available within
1-2 weeks) or permanently discontinued and no longer
available. We do our best to keep all items in stock and
avoid back orders as much as possible. If you would like
more specific details regarding the estimated dates when
your back ordered items are expected to become available,
please contact our customer service department. We will
respond within one business day. You can also log into your
account to check the status of your order. If any items are
permanently discontinued, they will be removed from your
order. |

BACK ORDERS
FOR PRE-PAID USA ORDERS WITH REGULAR GROUND DELIVERY |
|
|
If your
order is shipping to a USA address and you have pre-paid for
your order with a credit card or check and there are back
ordered items on your order, your order will be delayed at
the most by 10 days. If we have a delivery scheduled to
arrive at our warehouse for the back ordered items within
the next 10 days, then we will hold the whole order so all
items ship together when they are in stock. If we do not
have any deliveries expected to arrive to our warehouse in
the next 10 days, then we will immediately ship all of the
in-stock items and back order the remaining items to be
shipped separately later. You will not be required to pay
any additional shipping costs for having your order shipped
twice. This allows you to receive the in-stock items as fast
as possible. |

BACK ORDERS FOR SCHOOL PURCHASE ORDERS: |
|
We do not
split school orders into separate shipments. Keeping the
shipment together helps to avoid confusion when the order
arrives at the school. It also helps avoid confusion
matching our invoice to the school purchase order. A copy of
the invoice is mailed to the school accounts payable
department when the order has shipped. If there are back
ordered items on a purchase order, the entire order will be
delayed until all items are available to ship. |

BACK ORDERS SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE USA: |
|
Orders
shipping outside the USA or to APO and FPO military
addresses are not shipped until all items are available to
ship. To avoid delays in shipping, please contact us to
either remove the back ordered items or let us know you
agree to pay the added shipping costs for the second
shipment. |

BACK ORDERS FOR ORDERS USING COUPONS: |
|
If you used
a coupon for additional price discounts with your order,
your order might not qualify for free splitting. Please
refer to the terms of the coupon as stated in the email or
website page where you found the coupon code. Many of our
coupon codes do allow for free splitting but sometimes they
do not qualify. |

BACK ORDERS WITH EXPRESS SHIPPING: |
|
Whenever
you select express shipping at Learning Things, you get
guaranteed delivery in 1,2, or 3 business days (depending on
the delivery method you choose) and if there are any back
ordered items your order will be split into 2 shipments with
no added costs. The items available in stock will ship
immediately by the delivery method you selected. Back ordered items will ship as soon
as they arrive here. The back ordered items will ship by
regular ground delivery, usually UPS Ground. Since we are
covering the additional cost of having two shipments, we
offset this added cost by using regular ground delivery for
the second shipment. If you want express shipping for your
back-ordered items and you are willing to pay the additional
cost for two express shipments, please

to find out the additional shipping cost for shipping your
back-ordered items by an express delivery method. |

HOW TO GET YOUR ORDER SHIPPED FASTER: |
|
If your
order does not qualify for free splitting, you can contact
us to remove the back ordered items from the order. If you
still want the back ordered items, then you can let us know
you agree to pay the shipping cost for the second shipment
when those items arrive. When we receive either of these
instructions from you, we will proceed with shipping the
in-stock items immediately. If you want to wait until all
items are available to ship, please note that large orders
that include many items might experience significant delays
in shipping. To avoid these delays, please consider removing
the back ordered items or paying for the additional shipping
costs.
