3 Reasons for Using Alpha Omega Lifepac

Here are three good reasons to consider using Alpha Omega Lifepac for your homeschool curriculum.

1. Lifepac is very economical. With all softcover books and simple graphics, Lifepac is one of the most affordable homeschool curriculums available. Lifepac gives you all the books needed for the teacher and one student for five core subjects for under $300 for a school year. That includes a Bible curriculum, which some might argue is not a core subject. The cost is even less without Bible. Compare that to paying about $400 to $700 for other curriculums. While you pay a lot less for Lifepac, the downside is you get less content. Lifepac gives you enough content for one school year, but compared to other curriculums it is a relatively light weight curriculum. This is especially true for Language Arts where Lifepac combines all areas of Language Arts into one subject. While other curriculums offer separate courses for Spelling, Vocabulary, Grammar, Writing and Reading, Lifepac combines them all into one. Obviously, Lifepac Language Arts is spread very thin compared to other programs. Parents should consider either supplementing Lifepac Language Arts or just using something else.

2. Lifepac provides a structured, fill-in-the-blanks format that makes it very easy to use. All of the teacher and student materials needed for each subject are provided in a box. This is especially appealing to parents who are new to homeschooling and not quite sure they can be successful teaching their kids. The structured format puts less demands on the teacher and helps kids work more independently than other curriculums. The downside of the structured format is it leaves less freedom for parents / teachers to get creative with the course content. If you are looking to get creative and explore different directions with your homeschool program, Lifepac is not going to work well for you.

3. Lifepac offers an unbiased approach allowing you to rest assured your kids will be taught the truth. Unlike many public school curriculums, Lifepac has no political agenda. This is especially important for history and science because so many public schools are using history books that have re-written history and science books that abandoned true science years ago to promote faith-based evolution with blind religious zeal and total intolerance for any scientific evidence that contradicts their dogmatic beliefs. The downside of Lifepac's approach is some parents might be offended because Lifepac materials include occassional references to Bible verses.

In summary, if you are looking for a great value in a homeschool curriculum where the material is easy to use and ready to go right out of the box, then Alpha Omega Lifepac has what you need!
