California Homeschool Groups and CA Homeschooling Support

Getting connected to the information you need and to other experienced homeschool parents can help build confidence for new homeschool parents. Since homeschool laws vary from state to state, we recommend contacting a homeschool group within your state. The links below provide you with some support groups in California. Visit their websites or contact them for information. You can also see more details about California homeschool laws.

Another great source for information is your local school district office. With the increased popularity of homeschooling across California, it has become more common for the district superintendent to designate a staff member to assist homeschooling parents.

You can find more homeschool support under our 'Support' tab at the top of this page, including our free product catalog and free online learning sites for all core subjects. To find homeschool curriculum books and materials, just hold the mouse over the 'Shopping' tab. There you can shop by subject, by grade level, by brand and by product type.

The Homeschool Association of California has been around for a decade now, ever since a small group of Bay Area homeschooling moms got together in 1987 to start what was then called the Northern California Homeschool Association. They’ve grown up a lot since those early days of the two-page mimeographed newsletter. They are a statewide organization of home schooling families with lots to offer you to help you and your family in its home schooling adventure.
California Homeschool Network
California Homeschool Network is dedicated to providing California Homeschoolers with the resources needed to provide the best educational opportunities possible for their children. It is with this in mind they have assembled a plethora of information.
Homeschooling Park Hoppers
We are an all inclusive homeschooling park day group that meets weekly in parks located throughout Santa Clara County, CA. Our charter is simple: Provide a place for homeschooling families to gather, share experiences and ideas  (homeschooling and otherwise), get silly, and just have some good old fashioned fun. Our members, when so inspired, may plan an occasional outing or activity.  Any member is welcome to post an announcement to the group's email list or directly add the event on the group’s calendar via individual member password. Tour our site for additional information or email us directly at Info@ParkHoppers.org.

Mid-Peninsula Homeschoolers
Mid-Peninsula Homeschoolers warmly welcomes families of diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and homeschooling philosophies who love their children and wish to provide them with the best possible education.  We meet in Mitchell Park, Palo Alto, every Wednesday afternoon for fun, friendship, support, networking, and information gathering.

Woodland Area Christian Home Educators
WACHE is a support group for Christian home educators in Woodland, CA and surrounding areas. We believe that our children are gifts from God, and that we have the responsibility to train and instruct them according to God's principles. Our primary purpose is to support Christian home educators, with an emphasis on private education. As homeschooling families, we work together to provide opportunities for our children to grow, through classes, field trips, monthly support meetings, and many other activities.

Yuba-Sutter Homeschool Meetup Group
We are a homeschool support group meeting primarily in the Marysville and Yuba City area. Join us for park days, field trips, family gatherings, and other fun activities for both kids and parents. We are working together to make this the support group that we are all looking for!
