Students are required to keep a journal notebook in which they will complete various writing assignments at the end of each chapter. The following exercises are provided at the end of each chapter:

- Think and Apply - a critical thinking assignment
- Riddle Puzzle - a fill in the blank exercise
- Journal Writing - Students write 4 to 6 sentences in their journal.
