Primary Phonics Workbook 6 provides practice exercises for building phonics skills at the second grade level. As students complete the workbook exercises, they practice, apply, and master new skills with the phonetically controlled stories.
The Primary Phonics workbooks assume knowledge of the consonants. Workbook 6 expands the base of skills introduced in earlier books, continuing practice in plural forms, compound words, and two-syllable words. New consonant sounds and dipthongs introduced are ce, ci, cy, ge, gi, gu, dge,ph, ie, oi, oy, igh, ow, and au. This sixth workbook does not have any companion storybooks. All workbooks include a list of phonetic elements on the inside back cover. The outside back cover of each workbook features a chart showing when to introduce each storybook along with the corresponding workbook page number.
