The Junior Adventure Course is a fun and wonderfully successful course designed for K-6th grade.
Your Students are the Main Characters in the Adventure Story!
At the heart of the German Ultimate Adventure Course is an adventure story in which the students are the main character in the story. Students become secret agents and must learn the language to succeed. As the adventure progresses, so will the level of students fluency. With Power-Glide courses, students gradually soak up the language, discovering how language works almost without noticing it! You will be amazed at the level at which they will be speaking by the time they finish the course. And the great part is they are having fun learning.
This course provides a rich experience in communication; it does not rely on mazes of grammar rules, rote memorization, and mind-numbing drills. Instead, you'll find: Music, Stories, Memory aids, Diglot weaves, You-are-there adventures, Kinesthetic, visual, and audio activities, and Pictographs.
Adventure Guide
You can't start your adventure without the German Adventure Guide ! Your children will listen to the Audio CD's while doing the activities in the Adventure Guide. We highly recommend that each child have their own Adventure Guide because there are activities in the Adventure Guide that require the student to write. If you have more than one student, you will need to order additional copies of the Adventure Guide.
The adventure guide includes 3 activity books (levels I, II, and III.) Once your child finishes the level I activity book, they should proceed to level II, and then level III. Your child works and writes their answers in the consumable activity books, doing all the lessons sequentially, while following along the audio CD’s. By using the adventure guide and CD’s together, your child will hear the German being spoken and associate it with a picture, song, or story in the adventure guide.
8 Audio CD's
Our audio CD’s have native German speakers from different geographical regions so the students are able to hear different pitches and tones that they would hear in real world settings. If you prefer to use audio cassette tapes rather than audio CD's, that is no problem. All orders are shipped with audio CD's but you will find instructions in the box on how you can exchange the CD's for audio cassettes for free.
Parents Guide Book
Don’t know a foreign language? Don’t worry, we have you covered. Our German Junior Adventure course comes with a parent’s guide, which includes a page-by-page commentary and a copy of the page your child is on in their adventure guide. It also includes instructions, audio transcripts, objectives, lesson plans, tips, cultural information, and suggestions for additional activities you can do as a family.
